Swedvac - The Swedish Society of HVAC Engineers to arrange the 11th International Conference on Thermal Energy Storage - EffStock 2009

Since 1981 International Energy Agency (IEA) has arranged the so called Stock-conferences on thermal energy storage within the framework of IEA Implementing Agreement Energy Conservation through Energy Storage (ECES). The next conference will be hosted by Swedvac in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2009.

Aim and Target

The aim of the conference is to encourage awareness and solutions for energy conservation through energy storage. Major topics include seasonal, diurnal, and short term storage technologies including; geothermal heat pumps systems and other underground thermal energy storage systems for heating and cooling commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, diurnal ice storage and other diurnal thermal storage systems; phase change materials for building and non building applications.

Target groups for the conference are design professionals, government officials, manufacturers, environmental consultants, utility personnel and executives, and academic researchers.

A Noble meeting

The next conference, Effstock - Thermal Energy Storage for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability - The 11th International Conference on Thermal Energy Storage, will be held at Stockholm International Fairs in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 14-17 2009.

Swedvac, the Swedish Society of HVAC Engineers will be hosting the conference in conjunction with the society celebrating its 100 years anniversary. The conference Gala Dinner will be held in the magnificent Blue Hall of the Stockholm City Hall, the same hall as where the Nobel laureates gather for the dinner on December 10 each year.

The conference theme is well consistent with the aim of the coming energy assessments as a result of the European directive on Energy Performance in Buildings and the statement from the Swedish government as well as from Europe to build an efficient and sustainable energy system.
